Tips Testers

from $69.00

Barrel Strength Systems has collaborated with Chris Rice, the inventor of the original Tips Tester, and Tom Scibelli to bring you an evolved design The Barrel Strength Systems Tips Tester.

A great way to build fingertip support and thumb strength, the Standard Tips Tester has a flange across the bottom of the 1.9" thick handle to prevent the hands from fully wrapping around the device, equalizing difficulty across a wide range of hand sizes. The Barrel Strength System version has utilized this original design concept, but is crafted from a strong, weatherproof, and lightweight aluminum alloy. It mounts to most loading pin designs with a quick release pin, holding it upright, exactly where you need it.

The Compact Tips Tester offers the same features of the Standard version in a smaller package. Designed specifically for one-hand use, the tube is 1.3”, increasing the challenge, and allowing an even playing field, even for the smallest hands. It is also designed with the same attachment ring as the Trilobite Frame which allows for carabiner or fixed attachment with loading pins.

This is one of my favorite implements. The feel of it is unique and it presents a great challenge, while also not having a sharp edge that cuts into your fingers like most other finger tip training implements. Ease into training on it- don't go too heavy too fast or you will strain your finger tendons trying to be a tough guy.

This device will help you get stronger. It can be used one handed or two handed. It can help your technique for any kind of pull off of the floor. I feel like it has helped increase my thick bar squeezing power. It has definitely been helpful in my preparation for the World Armlifting Championships in St Petersburg, Russia.

One of the best if not the best thick bar implement. One of the reasons the euro is so popular is because everyone can set their desired width thus eliminating the big hand size advantage. This implements keeps you from wrapping your hands around it thus eliminating hand size advantage in competitions. Compared to say the 2 inch or 2.5 crusher were someone with a bigger hand size might be able to grip the implement better thus giving them an advantage. The crushers also rely on the wrist taking some of the whole "grip strength" aspect out of it. The axle is used often but isn't a pure grip strength event as it also requires full body strength, and the Vbar has been known to cause injuries.

There are many aspects to this implement that I enjoy. I like that it's fixed to the pin so that you can't get that cheating tilt on your lift, I live in the Northwest where everything rusts so the aluminum is a smart choice, if you have medium to giant hands your finger tips goto the same place which makes it feel pretty equal, yes it works your finger tips but I would say that even more importantly it will build that thumb up which is really important to have in grip sport since it makes setting a gripper easier since you have a big old thumb to lock it in place.
